Stay Another Night

so i had to spend the last week getting used to waking up in the a.m. instead of my usual p.m. yeah yeah yeah i have it so easy yada yada yada. but i would most happily trade anyone who has income! yeah see? that’s what i thought. anyway, tomorrow starts my “hard-core” training. first day is fasting. nothing but good ‘ol h2o. then comes 100 arms. 200 abs. 100 laps at the pool. with 2 miles of cardio. it sounds harder than it really is i promise. then another 100 arms and 200 abs before bed. gotta get into shape! my goal is to fit into my freshman prom dress size 5 for my cousin’s wedding in september. i can do it!

i used to watch a little show called Kyle XY and they always used relatively unknown bands for their music. i found a site called TuneFind.com and it gives you the names and artists of songs from the popular tv shows and movies. it’s helped me sleep so many nights, when i thought i’d have to go from one lyric site to another trying to find music that no one else has ever heard of. seriously, things like that bug me soooo much that i lose sleep trying to figure it all out. anywho, i found this site and started looking through their episode music lists and “shopping music” as i call it, listening to the 30 second previews iTunes offers. found this song, and discovered one of my top favorite artists who still haven’t gotten to the mainstream. i think my favorite thing about them is the lead singer almost has a British vocal tone to his singing, but they’re from Nashville, TN. i’ve always been a huge fan of the British sounding vocalists. coldplay, phil collins, sting, arctic monkeys. all of ‘em. i just love the warm tone to their singing.

my favorite lines in the song are “and i/i broke my heart for you/so you could understand” i know that i’ve had the tendency to put myself last when it comes to relationships. i suffer for those i love so they can see just how much i love them. that’s what the chorus means to me. the song itself is basically about a last chance reunion between two people who were previously in a relationship. i listened to it over and over before i went back to Arizona, hoping i could have that kind of experience with someone. when you know you may never get another chance to express your feelings and you only have so much time until you leave again. desperation isn’t really given much credit as an emotion. it’s honesty. it’s passion. as long as i’m feeling something very real and very in my face, i feel like i’m really living. this is my favorite song by AutoVaughn and if you like good music you should buy some of their stuff! they rock and i love them, end of story.
