hotel roosevelt-augustana

h e l l o  a l l
miss me?
well i’m back
whether you did or not
; )

today’s song is:

Hotel Roosevelt by Augustana

during my eighth and ninth grade year i had a crazy obsession with a little band by the name of Switchfoot. no lie i knew all the words and harmonies to each of their songs, i knew each of their birth dates, their birth places, and had a huge crush on jon foreman, their frontman. i happened to find a best friend (Michelle Tuell) who loved them almost as much as me and for her birthday, we went to see them in concert at the Marquee theater in Phoenix, AZ. needless to say we were ecstatic and we got pictures and autographs from each band member (except the bass player Tim who left early to eat with his wifey). yeah that’s right i met switchfoot! anywho the opening bands that night were Augustana and Eisley. and from there i fell in love. i knew if i liked Augustana live then i would love their cd. but at the time i didn’t have the money so i patiently waited to ask for it for my birthday. (i had to pass christmas cuz i wasn’t sure if the ‘rents would approve of some of the lyrics so i asked for it from my friends) and would you know that it stayed in my cd player for almost a complete month? (no i didn’t have my ipod yet so i was old school) the song is basically about a guy who doesn’t want to get to emotionally attached to a girl but still wants a relationship with her and how that type of situation happens everywhere from new york to LA. enjoY!

last call
for the moon tonight and
read all
rain on friday night and
take back
all those things you said and
lay down
rest your pretty head now
now

last call
for the drinks tonight and
it’s not your fault
it’s time to walk away from
this velvet box
full of alcohol and
tv talks
gone on far too long
and

take anything that’s better for me
take anything that’s better for you
take anything that’s better for me
take it now

shut up
i’m wrong
i know
we can talk about it
all of the wars
we’ve won
we’re still walking home and
don’t give me your reasons
for all my bad intentions
new york
la
hey man
you know it’s all the same now

last call
everyone go home and
take all
of the la rain in
cause it won’t fall
too much more this year and
the summer’s gone
but i’m still right here

(ooooh)
take anything that’s better for me
(ooooh)
take anything that’s better for you
(ooooh)
take anything that’s better for me
take it now

shut up
i’m wrong
i know
we can talk about it
all of the wars
we’ve won
we’re still walking home and
don’t give me your reasons
to all my bad intentions
new york
la
hey man
you know it’s all the same now

new york
la
hey man
you know it’s all the same from
new york
la
hey man
you know it’s all the same from
new york
la
you know it’s all the same
new york
la
hey man
hey man
hey man
